Fifth Monday Writing - April 25th, 9:30 - noon
The Chaffee County Writers Exchange has invited Maria Weber to co-lead its writing group with another Buena Vista writer, Audrey Smith. Weber and Smith will present "The Seasons of Tragedy, Comedy and Romance." They will lead using examples from literature and will ask attendees to write in these genres. It's all in fun, and the idea is to keep the pen moving. This is not a critique group. Fifth Monday Writing is free and open to the public. The Chaffee County Writers Exchange has sponsored this event every five weeks for over 8 years. For more information, contact Maria at 395-6013.

Intuitive Art Workshop - April 30, 10 am - 2 pm.
If you have read "I'll Be There to Write the Story," you know that for each chapter of story, there is a workbook section for readers to practice writing, art and other kinds of exercises that I did on my journey. Part of my journey was creating automatic art and connecting with my mother that way. I will lead a workshop on "touch drawing" and "automatic drawing," two types of spontaneous, intuitive art, which are described in the book (See pages 255- 265). Images produced originate from the subconscious.

She will tell how the writing of her book led her to explore the relationship with her deceased mother. Those who attend this event will have a chance to write about their mothers in interesting ways, including poetry and symbol. She will demonstrate intuitive drawing, the use of oracle cards, and muscle testing as ways to tap into the unseen world. Refreshments will be served.
